Douglas Rural Water District #3, is accepting applications for a full time Water Treatment Plant Manager position. This position performs skilled and specialized work supervising, directing, and participating in the operation and maintenance of the water treatment plant and facilities.

Applicant must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid drivers license, minimum four years experience in facilities operation and maintenance , minimum of two years experience in a supervisor or lead worker role, and obtain a class four water operators certification with the state of Kansas within 30 months of hire date. Applicant must pass a physical and drug screening. This is a full time position with competitive wages and benefits, based on experience.

          Position Summary:  Under the administrative supervision of the City Administrator, the utility superintendent is an administrative and working supervisory position responsible for the production and distribution of water and gas service and the efficient treatment of wastewater within the City of Lyons. The employee in this position is responsible for the safe and efficient supply of water and gas service to the citizens of Lyons. The utility superintendent sets priorities, schedules and directs department personnel in the installation, repair and maintenance of water and wastewater lines within the city. This position requires a class 3 certification in water and a class 2 certification in wastewater.  The utility superintendent is a non-exempt position.

The City of Spring Hill, KS, a progressive community located in the Kansas City metro area, is seeking a full-time Maintenance Worker. Spring Hill is located in southern Johnson County and is part of the Kansas City metro area.

Responsibilities:
Position works with limited supervision and performs maintenance functions of various complexity.

The essential job functions are:
 Serve as crew member for providing assistance in the utilities operations.
 Assists in long-range planning for operation, maintenance, and capital equipment replacement.
 Performs utility operations and maintenance.
 Inspects/repairs water distribution mains, wastewater collection system piping, and manholes.
 Repairs, operates, and maintains the ground storage and elevated water supply towers, and water pumping distribution system.
 Repairs, operates, and maintains sanitary sewer lift stations and collection system.
 Oversee certain utility program activity operations and tasks.
 Hauls de-watered sludge to on-site dumpster locations.
 Applies chemicals as needed and verifies proper equipment operations.
 Perform wastewater quality tests, handles equipment, and ensures that standards are met in testing of water samples for water distribution and wastewater treatment facility.
 Maintains logs of gauge and meter information.
 Services and repairs pumps and motors, hydrants and meters.
 Maintains, monitors, and repairs department machinery and equipment.

Requirements:
Minimum of one year of maintenance experience is required. Certification as KDHE Class I Wastewater Collections or Facility Operator, KDHE Water Small System or Class I Water Supply System Operator. Continuing education is required to maintain the certifications. This position requires a valid Driverís License with Class A CDL and Tanker Endorsement. Governmental experience is preferred

Salary range is $31,200 to $45,073 annually and is a non-exempt position. No City residency required.
