Salary: $19.94-$28.24

The City of Emporia, Kansas is accepting applications for Street Division Manager.  Under the direction of the Director of Public Works, the Street Division Manager is an exempt position responsible for directing, coordinating, supervising, and inspecting the activities of personnel in the street division. This position determines maintenance and construction needs and consults with the Director of Public Works on designs. A qualified applicant will have five years of street maintenance, asphalt, and concrete mix experience required with at least two years of management experience preferred. The person in this position is expected to have acquired the necessary information and skills to perform the job reasonably well after one year in the position. A high school diploma or GED and Kansas CDL class B. And the following knowledge, Skills, & Abilities.
   thorough knowledge of street maintenance and construction, equipment, maintenance, sign and easement ordinances, safety regulations, asphalt and concrete mix design work
   ability to interpret and analyze information and evaluate alternatives
   ability to develop and organize staff and work
   excellent oral, written communication, and interpersonal skills
   mathematical aptitude
   familiarity with all department equipment
