Job Opening

Position: Water Operator / Maintenance Technician (full-time)

Publication Date: May 8, 2020. This position will remain open until filled.

Salary: Depending on Qualifications ($16.00/hr min.)

Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday 7:30 – 4:00, Overtime is required (Overtime is an essential function of this position and may require work during non-business hours which include evenings, weekends and holidays.)

Qualifications: High School Graduate or GED, Water Operator experience preferred but not required. Must pass a drug screening and submit to a background check.

Licenses, Certifications: Must have a valid driver’s license, must obtain Small System Operator Certification within 1 year of employment, must obtain Backflow Prevention and Cross Contamination Certification within one year of employment.

Skills: Must have working knowledge of mechanical equipment. Must be capable of working proficiently in a mostly outdoor environment without constant supervision. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be safety conscious.

Responsibilities: Operation and maintenance of Water District facilities including; office, fire hydrants, valves, meters, vaults, towers etc. This work will involve but not limited to, general maintenance practices, including mowing, trimming, flushing, turning, painting, locating, minor plumbing, and water sample collections. The job involves walking, lifting, bending, in often times adverse conditions. Must be able to answer and respond to emergency calls as quickly as possible during and after business hours. Must be able to operate company vehicles, accessories and small tools as part of the field operations and do the necessary paperwork accurately and precisely using a computer. Respond to service calls from the public under the direction of Management. Cover the office on occasions by taking payments or answering customer calls over the phone and in person after adequate training is provided. Any other duties assigned from time to time by the management
