dishwasher detergent phosphates
« on: November 22, 2010, 04:41:31 pm »
Recently, we have received more and more complaints regarding  “spots” on our customers’ dishes.  This is something new.  I have heard that the dishwasher detergent companies have stopped putting phosphates in their detergents.  Has anybody else heard the same thing?  Has anybody else had an increase in complaints similar to this?

Thanks.

According to the Cascade website (http://www.cascadeclean.com/en_US/phosphatefree.do), phosphates can no longer be used in dishwashing detergent after July 1, 2010.  This will probably help the taste and odor problems of some water systems to some degree.  It will also cause people to complain to their PWS about the water and their dishwashers though, as you know.

Hopefully, continuing research will find a suitable solution (no pun intended).
